An origami cake for a new issue of SoGood Magazine #20. A few months ago, I was carried away by origami, an ancient art that was invented in China and is quite popular nowadays. I spent a great amount of time folding sheets of paper and learning methods and principles of origami. Inspired by the beauty of lines and patterns of folds, I created a few models using 3Ds max and printed them on a 3D printer.
The first fold that I tried to make was the Miura-ori fold, an origami-based scheme devised in 1970 by Japanese astrophysicist Koryo Miura to store solar panels for deployment in space. Firstly, I tried to make a model for my mould out of paper – I tried making it of different sizes, tried out different folding variants, used different kinds of paper, and finished up with 3D modeling softwares. At the same time, I always work on textures and flavours, so I created special recipes for this mould: apple/chocolate/caramel cheesecake. Inside is delicious cake, one of my favorites. Crunchy layer with nuts, caramel cheese mousse, soft chocolate sponge cake, soft caramel with spices, apple compote with cinnamon and apple liqueur, cheese mousse.

Оригами Торт для SoGood Magazine #20. Несколько месяцев назад я увлеклась созданием оригами. Я провела много часов складывая листы бумаги, изучая различные техники, поражаясь на сколько интересные вещи можно создавать всего из одного ровного листа. Под впечатлением от этих линий и складок, я создала несколько новых форм.
Мои вдохновением для этой формы послужила схема складки Миура-Ори, впервые созданной японским астрофизиком Корё Миурой в 1970м году для солнечных панелей. ? А внутри безумно вкусный торт, один из моих фаворитов. Хрустящий слой с орехами, карамельный сырный мусс, мягкий шоколадный бисквит, мягкая карамель со специями, яблочное компоте с корицей и яблочным ликером, сырным мусс.
